I read that a pair of Filipino wood-carvers from Paete won first place at the 21st Ottawa International Ice-carving competition earlier this month. Armando Baisas and his nephew Ross Baisas carved Tunggalian (Encounter), depicting the legendary battle of Lapu-Lapu and Magellan. I searched for photos of it but had no luck. That would have been a sight to see.
