They really ought to do the Paralympic Games before the Olympics. It would be a great opening act.

Fun to see her in concert! You can sing as loud as you want.

But I also love these ones:

And lady who was texting during the concert, it's Alanis, not Atlantis Morisette.

 "If you're here for four more years or four more weeks, you're here right now. I think when you're somewhere, you ought to be there. It's not about how long you stay in a place, it's about what you do while you're there, and when you go, is that place any better for your having been there?"

The Ascending by Kahlil Gibran

I have passed a mountain peak and my soul is soaring in the
Firmament of complete and unbound freedom;
I am far, far away, my companions, and the clouds are

Hiding the hills from my eyes.
The valleys are becoming flooded with an ocean of silence, and the
Hands of oblivion are engulfing the roads and the houses;
The prairies and fields are disappearing behind a white specter
That looks like the spring cloud, yellow as the candlelight
And red as the twilight.

The songs of the waves and the hymns of the streams
Are scattered, and the voices of the throngs reduced to silence;
And I can hear naught but the music of Eternity
In exact harmony with the spirit's desires.
I am cloaked in full whiteness;
I am in comfort; I am in peace.

Your eyes are much like milky pools of pantyhose.

Goodbye London! Thanks for a wonderful Olympics. Brazil, here we come!

American Manteo Mitchell had slipped on stairs a few days earlier. Halfway through the  4x400 m relay qualifying heat, he heard a pop and felt intense pain.  He had broken his fibula. He kept running anyway.

The U.S. ended up with the fastest qualifying time, along with the Bahamas.

Now that's bad-ass.

More fun in the Philippines?!
