Kyla Ross, Filipina-American Olympian.

Edit: Now an Olympic gold medalist :) Congratulations ladies!

Now if only they'd let the men compete in synchronized swimming and rhythmic gymnastics.

 1. Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, James Bond, and the Royal Corgis.
2. David Beckham looking dashing driving a speedboat.
3. Mr. Bean

4.The Shire, its scouring, followed by the Industrial Revolution/Saruman's destruction of Fangorn Forest.  Did you see the tree that was uprooted? Treebeard would not have approved.
5.The Torch being carried into the stadium with its construction workers cheering on.
6. The Cauldron lit by the young, unknown athletes.
7.The Olympic Rings floating over the stadium. Especially since The One Ring was forged right in front of us.
8.The Eye of Sauron
9. The 204 copper petals representing each participating nation coming together to form the Cauldron. I found that incredibly moving.
10. The people chosen to carry the Olympic flag and their contributions to society.  Is it just me or was it odd that Muhammad Ali was there?
11. The "doves" in bikes, especially the flying ET one.
12. Ewan McGregor and Emily Blunt narrating the opening sequence.  Bradley Wiggins ringing the Bell at the start.
13. The athletes' faces as they march/parade.
14. The hand-holding, drumming, swaying volunteers.
15. The touching Olympics-themed commercials.

Least favorite, because it's scary.  The Great Ormand Street Hospital being attacked by Voldemort, Cruella De Vil, Queen of Hearts, and Captain Hook. Only to be banished by Mary Poppinses?  Nice to see JK Rowling, but was that creepy giant baby necessary?  It was refreshing to see them proud of their universal health care system.

The lost cellphone love story. Although it was good to learn about Tim Berners-Lee.

Now did Sir Paul McCartney sing off-key? Or was he just overcome with emotion as Matt Lauer or Bob Costas said?

Queen Elizabeth II:  Bond Girl.

 This made me cry.
And these made me laugh.

May the victims of this senseless shooting rest in peace.  A movie buff myself, it's too bad that these people who sought entertainment, fun, and magic found tragedy instead.  I send my prayers to them and their loved ones.

Still no British win at Wimbledon after 76 years.  Made me cry, too :(

Is this a 30 minute meal?
