I used to dislike the idea of the shortest day of the year. Until I realized that come 22 December, the days gradually start to get longer again. Now I celebrate the rebirth of the sun, the new solar year in the ancient calendar. Time to let go of things that serve no purpose, and to spread love and appreciation to your family and friends.
